Nepal (Pokhara)

In April 2019 we constructed Nepal's first real skatepark. Annapurna Skatepark is a community skatepark in the city of Pokhara. The city is the country's largest metropolitan city in terms of area and second-largest in terms of population. The project was only made possible thanks to Make Skate Life and all the amazing locals who got involved throughout the process. The park is meeting the growing demand for safe spaces to skate in the country. In May 2017 after completion of Annapurna Skatepark, Refurb Skate (a female collective) from New Zealand hosted workshops introducing girls to skateboarding and encourage them to appropriate the space for themselves. A free skateboard loaner program has been installed in the skateparks and volunteer-led support is provided for beginners, ensuring a large number of users with free, safe, and equal access to use their skateparks.
